"Karate is a product of the Japanese culture, and if the practitioner has some grasp of the Japanese philosophy, culture, art, etc., it can help the overall understanding of Karate. But, under no circumstance, can these elements substitute for actual training and physical practice. Karate-do teaches us how to concentrate and how to bring the body and the mind together. I think that many people today understand about martial arts but few people among the practitioners truly understand the real meaning of training. Our training is not there to play out our own fantasies. It has to do with your own life. That is why a true Budo man lives his life in an impeccable way."
